OTTAWA — Two men have been booked into the Franklin County jail in connection with an armed robbery of the Princeton Quick Shop Friday night. Following the robbery, dispatchers issued an alert about a car with two men and a woman who parked at the convenience store, Master Deputy Jerrod Fredricks said. An Ottawa police captain was returning from duty at a game at the Ottawa High School when he spotted a car matching the description going northeast on I-35 in Ottawa and stopped it, Fredricks said. “He was in the right place at the right time, and for that, we’re thankful,” he said. City police and sheriff’s deputies took the people in the car into custody. William Pope, 31, Garnett; and Dalton Dunnagan, 22, Mound City; were booked on suspicion of aggravated robbery and other counts. They remain in jail.
