OTTAWA — A garage fire this afternoon at 933 N. Poplar is still under investigation. The fire involved a detached garage which was heavily involved in fire when firefighters arrives, Ottawa Fire Chief Jeff Carner said. There were some tense moments when it appeared the fire would spread to the house, he said. However, firefighters stopped the fire before it reached the house, he said. The fire destroyed the garage but there was no immediate estimate of damage.
