The Nixon White House lawyer who broke ranks and broke open the Watergate scandal will present “Watergate II: The ‘Cancer on the Presidency’” on Friday, February 8. John Dean will speak at the KU Edwards Campus in Overland Park in a free event open to attorneys and members of the public. The speech, which is presented by the Kansas CLE Commission and the Kansas Bar Association, will also be web-cast. Dean will discuss legal ethics and says he wants to take the mistakes of Watergate and make them relevant to practicing lawyers today.
The scandal forced President Richard Nixon to resign and several of his top advisors to serve jail time. Seating is limited.
