KANSAS CITY- Kansas City civic leader and philanthropist Adele Hall has died at the age of 81. She died suddenly at her home in Hawaii. She was the wife of Hallmark Cards Chairman Donald Hall. Kansas City officials, civic leaders and others offered tributes to her and her service. US Senator Pat Roberts from Kansas said Hall helped make the Kansas City area and the United States a better place to live. Her interests included children’s issues, the arts and politics. She was involved with the Salvation Army. Salvation Army Major Charles Smith of Kansas City lauded her support of the Army and numerous worthy causes in the community as well as her gracious spirit. She was also involved with the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Children’s Mercy Hospital, and the greater Kansas City Community Foundation and served on several boards, including the United Negro College Fund, the Points of Light Foundation and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
