TOPEKA — The application deadline for academic and non-academic research grants from the Kansas Historical Society is April 15. The grants are designed to help defray expenses while conducting research at the historical society in Topeka. The Alfred M. Landon Historical Research Grant provides $1,000 to graduate students researching at the state archives, Kansas Museum of History, or the historical society’s archeology collections from July 1 through June 30, 2014. The Edward N. Tihen Historical Research Grant is $500 presented annually to non-academic researchers.
