POMONA — The West Franklin USD 287 school board continued to come up with final numbers a controversial school bond propose Monday night. To hold down the cost of the final bond issue, board decided to take about a million dollars out of the district’s capital outlay fund and combine that with the bond issue. That would reduce the proposed bond issue to $14.8 million. Board president Thayne Bush also instructed Supt. Dotson Bradbury to see if there are other reductions that could be made. The board is expected to take a final vote on the bond amount next week. The proposal, which would close schools at Williamsburg and Appanoose, and combine all students at Pomona, which would get some building expansions and improvements.
