KANSAS CITY — A missing central Missouri woman and her young daughter were found unharmed, but the woman was booked into jail because authorities believe she faked their kidnapping. Rachel Koechner, 28, and her 4-year-old daughter, Zoee Sandner, had been missing since last week, until they were found in Linn County, Mo., Monday night. Koechner called her boyfriend from a motel in the Kansas City area Monday, the Associated Press. The boyfriend reported that although she said she was OK, she sounded like she was reading from a script and wasn’t being allowed to talk. AP said authorites were concerned because they believed the woman and her daughter were with Koechner’s ex-husband, 37-year-old Devon Sandner. Authorities considered them to be in danger because of a history of domestic violence. Sandner was also jailed. He was not charged in the incident but was wanted for forgery warrant. The child was placed in state custody.
