OTTAWA–What would normally be a routine matter may not be so routine. The Ottawa City Commission was expected to adopt the 2012 International Building Codes and the 2011 National Electric Code, but Ottawa Mayor Blake Jorgensen says he’s heard from contractors that the new codes could add to the cost of a new house by several thousand dollars. The Commission will hold further discussion of the matter in April.
