GARDNER — Once again, a planned closure of I-35 at new interchange for the Gardner intermodal has been postponed. The Kansas Department of Transportation said that winter weather has pushed back a construction project that would close the south-bound lanes of I-35 in southern Johnson County. KDOT said under the new schedule, all lanes of southbound I-35 will be completely closed from Thursday night at 10 to Friday morning at 5. A contractor will set girders for part of the new Homestead Lane bridge, weather permitting. Motorists will be detoured along U.S. 56 between Gardner and K-33 at Wellsville.
