RANTOUL–A 70-year-old Rantoul man was booked into the Franklin County Jail this weekend on suspicion of battery and suspicion of aggravated assault. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says 70-year-old Terry Johnson was arrested following a fight in the 100 block of McGinnis Avenue in Rantoul involving his 47-year-old son Tony Johnson. Tony Johnson told officers that his father had struck him while he was sitting in his truck. He reported his father then went into his home and came back out with a handgun. He says his father pointed the handgun at him.
