OTTAWA — Although arguments on the First Amendment and the Fourth Amendment might seem the stuff of college and high school textbooks, Franklin County offered a dramatic lesson on its importance to real world situations and the working of democracy. During this week’s court hearing for former Sheriff Jeff Curry, Senior Judge John Sanders agreed to a request from attorneys for the news media to open the documents related to an ouster petition filed against Curry before he resigned.
