WICHITA — Hail the size of golf balls fell near Wichita Sunday. This was the opening shot of a multi-day severe thunderstorm threat for the middle of the country. “What happens today spreads and fans out then gets even larger during the day on Tuesday. So it’s Austin, Dallas, Oklahoma City, Wichita, Kansas City all in line for what could be damaging winds, hail and even one or two tornadoes not unlikely in these storms,” ABC news weather editor Sam Champion said. “This is that big spring event that we just haven’t had yet.”
