PAOLA — The Miami County Commission has agreed to temporarily close some roads for the popular Running with the Cows Half-Marathon, 5K and Kids Races. The Half-Marathon stretches across northern Miami and southern Johnson Counties. The Miami County Republic reports that the County agreed to close Metcalf Road on May 11 from the race’s start at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 227th Street to 215th Street at the county line. 215th Street will also be closed from Metcalf Avenue to Nall Avenue. The road and bridge department will begin posting signs near the closed areas two to three weeks before the race to alert local drivers to the future temporary closure of Metcalf. In addition, race organizers plan to mail out the race and road closing information to area homeowners. Traffic should only be disrupted for about five hours. Johnson County has also agreed to control traffic on that part of the course in that county.
