OTTAWA – Ottawa High School will have to find a new basketball coach for next season. Cyclones’ head basketball coach Jon McKowen is leaving his position at Ottawa for the head basketball coaching position at Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School. Dr. Ryan Cobbs says McKowen will be missed.
“Jon McKowen has really elevated our basketball program,” Cobbs said. “If you ask me, he’s the best basketball coach in the state of Kansas, and now he’ll be the best basketball coach in Iowa.”
