TOPEKA – Anyone with a “Conceal and Carry” permit will soon be able to carry a firearm into all public buildings. Governor Sam Brownback signed a bill Wednesday that allows those with a permit to carry their weapon with them into any public building in the state of Kansas. Buildings are allowed to deny those with a concealed firearm entry, but must do so through enhanced security such as security guards or metal detectors. The legislation is being delayed for universities, colleges and some other public buildings and could be postponed until the year 2017.
