TOPEKA — A man who broke into WIBW television at Topeka and attacked four of the station’s employees last year was sentenced to more than eight years for the incident. WIBW reports that at Wednesday’s hearing, Shawnee County Prosecutor Veronica Dersch said because Ray Miles has refused to take his medication, he is a danger to society. Miles’ attorney Donna Asher described Miles as a military veteran with mental issues. On May 23, 2012, Miles broke through WIBW’s front door and attacked four employees, including stabbing two of them. Miles’ sentence was the maximum available.
