OTTAWA — Prairie Paws Animal Shelter will host a volunteer orientation Saturday, May 4, at the shelter on K-68 east of Ottawa. The shelter needs volunteers to perform a wide variety of tasks such as socializing the dogs and cats, feeding, grooming and maintaining living environments for the pets as well as regular housekeeping and grounds maintenance. Volunteers are also needed for off-site adoptions, special events and fundraising. Children under the age of 14 are welcome to be volunteers if accompanied by an adult while at the shelter.
