TOPEKA — Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said his office has assumed the lead on the prosecution team against Kyle Flack, the 27-year-old Ottawa man charged with capital murder in the deaths of Kaylie Bailey, her 18-month-old daughter Lana Bailey, Andrew Stout and Steven White. Franklin County Attorney Stephen Hunting requested the assistance and will continue to play a role in the prosecution, Schmidt said. Flack’s court-appointed attorney is Ronald Evans, who is head of the state’s capital crimes defense unit. Flack is due in Franklin County District Court on July 8.
