MANHATTAN — A West Franklin FFA graduate is among the 15 candidates in the running as state FFA officer. Evan Woodbury will complete an intense process of interviews, tests and public speaking demonstrations during this week’s state FFA convention at the Kansas State University campus. A nominating committee will submit a list of 10 candidates to the state delegates, who will elect the six members who will serve as the state officers. The new team will be announced and installed at the final session of the convention Friday afternoon. A five-year FFA member, Woodbury has served as East Central District vice president and reporter, chapter president and vice president. His supervised agricultural experience program involves working as a farmhand for Woodbury Farms, caring for 400 cows, 350 calves and 4,000 acres of crops and hay. Woodbury is a freshman at Kansas State.
