OTTAWA — Ottawa High School baseball star Connor Goedert was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 34th round of the amateur draft over the weekend. Goedert was a freshman at Neosho County Community College and helped lead the Panthers to the Junior College World Series at Grand Junction, Colo. His season batting average for the Panthers was .326, and he hit a couple of homers at the series. It wasn’t immediately known whether he will sign with the Pirates or return to college next year.
