OTTAWA–Your wait in the county’s car title and tag line is getting shorter. The Franklin County Commission agreed to allow County Treasurer Debbie Hough to hire another clerk in the motor vehicle office. Hough says to save costs, state legislators dumped more of the state’s responsibilities onto the counties. Hough says this has overwhelmed her office staff, creating long waiting lines and letting the phones ring. She says hiring another clerk will help the backlog.
