OTTAWA — On this Independence Day week, the Ottawa City Band will perform its “Spirit of America Concert” tonight at 7:30 at City Park. The band will also perform a star-spangled concert for Independence Day on Thursday night at 8 at Forest Park, prior to the fireworks display. The concert playbills has all the red, white and blue standards including the “Star Spangled Banner,” “America, the Beautiful;” “The National Emblem March” and John Philip Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever,” band director Mark Paquette said. Although many of the same selections will be on the playlist for both nights, Paquette said he’ll have enough changes to keep the concerts fresh and different.
