GARNETT — If the price is right, homeowners may have a better chance of selling their homes in the Garnett area this summer.  Local realtors tell The Anderson County Review that they’re seeing an improvement in the real estate market, although successful selling still depends on some key factors. The Review reports fewer foreclosures, better prices, low interest rates and a slowly recovering economy have helped the Garnett and Anderson County real estate market rebound from its devastating crash in late 2007 and early 2008.  Real estate agent Carla Schulte says the market has picked up quite a bit compared to this time last year but not like it was before the crash.  She says the houses that are selling the most right now are in the $50,000 to $90,000 range.  She says good farm land is selling above its appraised value.  Real estate agent Sherry Benjamin says the houses most likely to sell are those with  three bedrooms and at least two baths, preferably with a basement.  Smaller houses with only two bedrooms and one bath tend to sit on the market for longer, she said.
