KANSAS — If you’re eyeing all that grass along the right of way along state and federal highways as hay, the Kansas Department of Transportation reminds you that you have to get a permit first.  KDOT says haying permit applications are available at KDOT district and area offices. The permits are good for one year or a specific haying season.  Permits can be canceled at any time by either party and all haying will have to meet requirements and guidelines set by KDOT.  Check with the Garnett KDOT area office. Call (785) 448-5446.
