BALDWIN CITY — The first of three finalists for Baker University president visited the campus earlier this week. The Lawrence Journal World reports that Lynne Murray calls herself a small-town girl. Another finalist will be in Baldwin City later this week and the last finalist, next week. Baker is looking for a successor to Pat Long, who is retiring next June. Murray is the vice president of development and alumni and international relations at Gallaudet University, Washington, D.C. Murray has been in charge of fund-raising drives for Gallaudet and Georgetown universities. Gibson said her small-town background and fundraising experience got the attention of the search committee.
