BURLINGTON — The Coffey County Housing Authority will be one of a few entities in Kansas to receive a housing grant announced by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture’s Rural Development today. The authority will receive a $25,000 grant to make housing repairs and improve housing conditions for low-income rural residents. The grant can be used to make general repairs or provide access to people with disabilities, USDA Rural Development secretary Doug O’Brien said. The funds may also be used to make homes more energy efficient.
