OVERBROOK — A 63-year-old Harveyville woman was killed in a one-car rollover near Overbrook on Saturday afternoon. The crash occurred on U.S. 56 about six miles east of Overbrook, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. George Tomlinson, 69, was driving west on U.S. 56 when he moved to the right to make room for a pair of east-bound vehicles that were hugging the centerline, the highway patrol said. The passenger-side wheels of his pickup left dropped off the road, sending the truck in to a ditch, where it hit a field culvert and went airborne, the highway patrol said. It landed on its front and hood and flipped before coming to a stop on the driver’s side. Tomlinson’s wife, Iva, was trapped in the vehicle and unresponsive when officers arrived. She was pronounced dead at the scene. He was taken to KU Medical Center. Both were wearing seatbelts.
