COLONY — An 82-year-old Colony woman was killed Wednesday afternoon when her car crashed head-on with a semi-truck two miles north of Colony. Vivian Barnett was driving was south on U.S. 169 when her car went left of center and was struck by the truck, which was driven by Michael Kirksey, 55, Spring, Texas, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. Barnett was prounouced dead at the scene. She was wearing a seat belt. Kirksey may have been injured but refused an ambulance, the highway patrol said. He was also wearing a seat belt.
