POMONA–The West Franklin school board is on the fast track for a new superintendent. The board met in special session to review the results of several meetings with staff and patrons on what they want in a superintendent. Before the board meeting, Brian Jordan, a representative from the Kansas Association of School Boards, which is conducting the search for the school board, held a community meeting to ask the public about their desired characteristics in a school superintendent. The board reviewed those recommendations. Board member Matt Froggate says one thing he wants to see in a superintendent is someone who is a visionary and a creative thinker. The board hopes to hire someone by the first of February. The new superintendent would succeed Dotson Bradbury, who is retiring June 30.
