OSAGE CITY — A 37-year-old Melvern man was killed and four other people were injured when the man’s pickup slid on the ice and hit a tree south of Osage City Tuesday evening. Eric Stinebaugh was driving east on 269th Road near Auburn Road when his truck slid on the ice went off the roadway and struck the tree shortly before 5 p.m. Tuesday, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. He was killed. The highway patrol said he wasn’t wearing a seat belt. Four other passengers received injuries, 33-year-old Amber Tincher, 33, Osage City; Kelly Gordon, 33, Topeka; Gunner Tincher, 3, Osage City; and Grady Tincher, 2, Osage City. Gordon was taken to Stormont-Vail Hospital, Topeka, the highway patrol said. The two women weren’t wearing seat belts. The two children were wearing seat belts but weren’t in car seats, the highway patrol said.
