LINN COUNTY — A 55-year-old Pleasanton man was hospitalized following a one-vehicle crash southeast of LaCygne Tuesday. Glann Heitschmidt was driving west on 1700 Road about a mile west of Vail Road shortly before noon when his pickup hit a patch of ice and went into the south ditch, striking some trees, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. He was taken to Overland Park Regional Medical Center. The highway patrol said he was wearing a seat belt.
