WELLSVILLE — The Wellsville Police Department has kicked off a youth drug safety program for seventh graders. Police Chief Steve Gillespie said he and his officers are giving Wellsville students a 112-page handbook called “Drug Safety: Smart Choices for Life.” The book includes a DVD with a program with a teenage host, an interactive quiz, and a quick connection to a Website hosted by the Community Safety Net group. The students can win prizes through the Website, he said. Several local businesses and community organizations chipped in to buy the handbooks, he said.
