OTTAWA — Franklin County commissioners Colton Waymire and Don Stottlemire have filed for re-election; Waymire for the 1st District, and Stottlemire for the 5th District. Waymire is wrapping up his first term. Stottlemire, the longest-serving member on the commission, has served three terms. Both say economic development and the creation of a new industrial park are top priorities. Stottlemire said that has the Gardner-Edgerton intermodal center develops, it will have a significant impact on his district, which covers eastern Franklin County and is the only district that doesn’t include part of the city of Ottawa. Waymire’s 1st District is almost entirely comprised of the city of Ottawa. Commissioner Steve Harris has filed for re-election earlier.
