DULUTH, Minn. – A Minnesota man has pleaded guilty to both kidnapping his ex-wife and robbing the Great Southern Bank in Ottawa. Although Timothy Caskey had requested a jury trial in federal court at Duluth, Minn., he chose to accept a plea bargain. As part of the plea deal, the federal charges related to the Ottawa robbery were transferred to U.S. District Court in Minnesota. Two years ago, Caskey kidnapped his ex-wife in Minnesota and forced her to accompany him on a cross-country journey from Minnesota that ended in Mexico, where his ex-wife was rescued and he was captured by Mexican state police. During the journey, Caskey robbed the Great Southern Bank. There was no date set for sentencing.
