OTTAWA — The Ottawa school district plans to expand its early childhood education program next year. Special education director Daniel Wray told the Ottawa school board Monday night that the program would be designed to have at least 24 openings and up to 36 maximum. Wray said he’s trying to hold the tuition cost to about $100 a month. “I want to make it affordable option for those families in Ottawa just on the cusp,” Wray said. Those are the families most in the need of the pre-K program, he said. The pre-kindergarten children will go to school four days a week, for 3-and-a-half hours per day, he said.
