TOPEKA — The statewide tornado drill will be Tuesday afternoon at 1:30. If adverse weather occurs, the drill will be postponed until the same time Thursday, March 6th, the National Weather Service’s Chad Ohmtt said. The Federal Communication Commission has granted a waiver to the state of Kansas which will allow the National Weather Service to use the actual Emergency Alert System code for the tornado drill message, he said. That means NOAA weather radios that are set to receive the alert will activate for the test tornado warning.
