OTTAWA — The 90-year-old man who was the subject of a Silver Alert issued by the Ottawa Police Department has been found safe. Franklin County emergency dispatchers said Edwin Gardner of Ottawa was found safe this evening. He was contacted and was sent back to his family. Gardner disappeared early this afternoon from the downtown area, driving south, Police Chief Dennis Butler said. Gardner’s family says he is suffering from dementia and may have been confused, he said.
