HAYS — The Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science will start its spring recruiting tour this week. A letter from the academy recently went out to all Kansas high school sophomores, inviting them to attend one of the free information sessions. Students who complete the academy receive a high school diploma from their high school and receive a minimum of 68 hours of college credit from Fort Hays State. Tuition, fees and books for 68 credit hours are free for students from a Kansas public high school. The closest sessions are at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library on May 19; the Manhattan Public Library on April 22, the Alford Lionel Branch Library April 28 in Wichita, and the Bonner Springs Public Library May 20.
