OTTAWA — A 33-year-old Osawatomie man is dead after a motorcycle accident shortly after 4 p.m. Tuesday on North Davis Avenue. Robert Repine lost control of his motorcycle while he was trying to pass a pickup on Davis Road and went into a ditch. Repine was treated at the scene by Franklin County EMS and Ottawa Fire Department crews, and taken to Ransom Memorial Hospital, where he later died of his injuries. The Advanced Accident Investigation Team, comprised of officers with the Ottawa Police Department and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department looked at the accident. Ottawa police said that speed was a contributing factor in the accident, but there was no indication that alcohol or drugs were involved. Repine was wearing a helmet, which had to be cut off.
