CARBONDALE — Bridge work will cause some delays along 137th Street at U.S. 75 east of Carbondale beginning Thursday for a little more than a week. The Kansas Department of Transportation said the 137th Street bridge will be restricted to one-lane traffic for asphalt work. Also Thursday, the south-bound ramp from 137th Street to U.S. 75, and the north-bound exit from U.S. 75 to 137th Street will be closed. When those ramps reopen in a few days, the south-bound exit from U.S. 75 to 137th Street and the north-bound exit from 137th Street to U.S. 75 will be closed. No detours will be posted although advance message boards will warn motorists to the closures, KDOT said. The work is part of a larger project to repave U.S. 75 in Osage and Shawnee counties.
