PRINCETON – This morning, investigators were examining the remains of a two-story house that was destroyed by a fire west of Princeton Tuesday afternoon. A special fire investigation team of Ottawa Fire Department inspectosr and a member of the state fire marshal’s office were looking at the ruins of the house, Franklin County Sheriff Jeff Richards. “We maintained the scene,” Richards said. There was no immediate reason to believe the cause of the fire was of a suspicious nature, he said. “… Right now, it’s being done out of an abundance of caution,” Richards said. The Franklin County Red Cross had contacted the family to offer assistance, he said. No one was at home when the fire occurred, he said. According to initial reports, a passerby reported the fire and tried to find if anyone was in the house. The fire was on John Brown Road west of Louisiana Road.
