OTTAWA — Some phone service to the Franklin County 911 emergency dispatch center has been experiencing problems since late Wednesday night, Sheriff Jeff Richards said. Non-emergency calls to the 911 center from land-line phone aren’t getting through, he said. However, emergency 911 land-line calls are working properly, Richards said. The 911 center appears to be receiving non-emergency calls from mobile phones, he said. The problem has continued into the morning. The sheriff’s department said the problem appears to be affecting other customers in the city as well. AT&T has been contacted but it’s unknown when full service will be restored.
