OTTAWA — The ECKAN summer lunch program begins next week. ECKAN provides free meals to children during the summer, so they can eat healthy meals while school is out. Meals will be served at the Don Woodward Community Center, 517 E. 3rd, at noon Monday through Friday from May 27th to July 25th. There are no income requirements or registration. Any child age 18 or younger may come to eat. All children are welcome and encouraged to participate, ECKAN said. The Ottawa Recreation Commission and Mid-America Nutrition Program are working in cooperation with ECKAN to provide the program.
