READING — The U.S. Postal Service says it’s looking for 700 square feet to accommodate a new post office for Reading. The town at the west end of Melvern Lake lost its post office after an EF3 tornado struck the community and wiped out most of the downtown area three years ago. Since then, U.S. Sen. Jerry Moran said he’s been pushing the postal service to reopen a post office in Reading. Postal officials will hold a community meeting 5 p.m. Friday at the community building to receive information about the proposal and for citizens to provide input.
