TOPEKA — The state of Kansas is turning artsy. The Kansas Department of Administration said will there will be special hours for the state surplus facility Friday night, June 6, as part of the Topeka First Friday Art Walk. The surplus facility will be open 5-7 p.m. and all items will be available for public purchase, with many items sporting discounted prices. State officials will offer refreshments and be available to discuss the surplus program. After being offered to county and local governments, state surplus items are offered to the public for sale. The state surplus warehouse is just off I-70 and Macvicar on Kanza Erive. The facility is regularly open to the public Monday through Friday from 8 to 4:30. Items for sale can also be viewed on-line at the department of administration’s Web site at www.admin.ks.gov.
