KANSAS CITY – An Anderson county woman was sentenced today to more than 13 years in federal prison for taking part in a drug trafficking conspiracy that ended in a killing. Tracy Rockers, 24, Greeley, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said. In her plea, she admitted she was present Dec. 17, 2010, at a home in Eudora, when traffickers killed Gregory Price, Ottawa, for failing to pay drug debts. Grissom said an investigation began in march 2010 when the Gardner Police Department and the Johnson County Sheriff’s office began investigating traffickers who were selling methamphetamine in Gardner. In August 2011, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation identified Rockers as one of the traffickers, he said. Working undercover, they made the first of several methamphetamine purchases from Rockers. On Dec. 17, 2010, several of the traffickers confronted Price at a residence in Eudora, about $800 they said he owed them. When when Price refused to pay, he was thrown into a door during a scuffle, causing him to collapse and make gurgling noises. Rockers watched Price while the traffickers installed a camper shell on the back of a pickup they planned to use to take Price to a rural spot near DeSoto. At some point, while lying on the floor, Price died. The traffickers put Price’s body inside a refrigerator and took it to the rural location near DeSoto. More than a year later, investigators found the refrigerator with price’s body inside. Thirteen other people were also sentenced as members of the drug ring or being involved in Price’s death. They are: Michael Redifer, 37, 30 years; Steven Hohn, 34, Gardner, 30 years; Michael Quick, 33, Eudora, 20 years; Ronnie Morlean, 30, Olathe, 216 months; Kerry Lee Randall, 43, 180 months; Keith Arney, 29, Fulton, Mo., 173 months; Robert Baitey, III, 39, Desoto, 150 months; Daniel Reynoso, 25, 135 months; Gregory Renft, 40, 10 years; Rebecca Zehring, 39, Desoto, 105 months; Jordan Noble, 24, Eudora, five years; Dustin Cook, 39, 52 months; Danny Marlin, 42, four years.
