LAWRENCE — A Waverly trucker was injured Saturday morning in a one-vehicle accident eight miles west of Lawrence. Gabriel Bukovatz, 36, was driving a semi-truck east on U.S. 40, and swerved to avoid a bicyclist, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. His truck went off the road, overturned and struck a tree. He was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital for examination of injuries.
