OTTAWA — The candidates forum held by the Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce’s Legislative Action Committee will be tonight at 6:30 at Ottawa Municipal Auditorium. There are three major local races for the August primary election, all involving Republicans. Sheriff Jeff Richards, who was appointed to the position to fill a vacancy, is being challenged by Mike Reed. County Commissioner Don sSottlemire is being challenged by retired Wellsville principal Randall Renoud. Because no Democrat filed in those two races, the winners will take all. State Rep. Blaine Finch of the 59th House District is being challenged by Bob Fluke, the head of the Franklin County Republican Party. The winner will face Democrat Scott Barnhart.
