OTTAWA — The Crystal Plaza Theater is hosting a marathon of robin williams movies this afternoon. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. They can see as many of the six Robin Williams movies as they’d like, Theater owner Peach Madl said. All proceeds were to be donated to the Elizabeth Layton Center. The marathon and donations are a fitting tribute to the iconic comedian, who killed himself after a history of depression and after he died, reports from the family that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Although his death, Williams would have wanted people to remember him with laughter, Madl said. Williams’ death has made people aware of the impact of mental illness, Madl said. She also noted the role that mental illness played in the recent police shooting involving Joseph Jennings.
