QUENEMO — A 52-year-old Quenemo woman was killed and a 34-year-old Garnett man was injured in a head-on crash on K-268 just east of the K-368 intersection near Pomona Lake Monday morning. Bradley Ruppert, Garnett, was driving east on K-268 when his mini-van crossed the center line and hit a west-bound car driven by Dawnette Hoerner, Quenemo, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. Hoerner died at the scene. Ruppert was injured and he was taken by helicopter to KU Medical Center. Both drivers were wearing seat belts. About one mile of K-268 was closed most of the day.
